Mas-has-kah, Chief of the Ioways-(White Cloud)Thursday, October 3, 2019: The Library Company of Philadelphia presents a lecture by 2018-2019 William H. Helfand Visual Culture Fellow Julia Grummitt, a Princeton University Ph.D. candidate in History. Grummitt’s lecture will explore McKenny and Hall’s History of the Indian Tribes of North America (1836-1844), which at the time of its publication was the most elaborately illustrated book ever printed in the United States.
