A meeting of the American Historical Print Collectors Society will take place at the Fairfield Museum and History Center in Fairfield, Connecticut, on Friday, April 8th. A tour of the special exhibition “Visiting John Taylor Arms: A Master Printmaker and His Circle” will be led by curator Chelsea Garth.
While best known for his etched views of European and American cities, John Taylor Arms spent much of his life in Fairfield. A guestbook in the collection of the Fairfield Museum and History Center highlights Arms’ connection to other prominent figures in Connecticut, including Helen Keller, Francis Luis Mora, Clare Leighton, and Thomas W. Nason. The exhibition will explore their relationships through artwork, photographs, archives, and artifacts.
The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 and will be followed by an optional lunch at a local restaurant. For the safety and comfort of everyone, Covid 19 restrictions will be observed, and those attending should be fully vaccinated against the virus.
